Bright Start accepts referrals from professionals working with children or the child's parents/carers. Therapy sessions normally take place within the child's school.

 

Following completion of the referral form and assessment (Goodman’s Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire), meetings would be held with the professionals involved and the parent/carers, to determine the child’s level of need, aims of therapy and which service would be most beneficial. Before any commencement of work those with parental responsibility must provide consent. The Service Level Agreement will also need to be signed prior to sessions starting. Review meetings will be held every 6 to 10 weeks with the child’s teacher and parent/carer. An end of therapy report can be completed if required.
